Mercedes service intervals: what to change and when

From oil to brake fluid, sensible replacement intervals for maintenance items and what to watch for in the Cyprus climate.

Maintenance is the work done before a fault appears. On Mercedes-Benz models the intervals vary by engine type and usage; the figures below are a general guide, and the exact interval is in your car’s service book.

Engine oil and the oil filter are usually changed every 10,000–15,000 km or once a year. Air and cabin filters every 1–2 years; the fuel filter more often on diesels. Brake fluid absorbs moisture, so it should be renewed roughly every 2 years.

North Cyprus’ hot, dusty summers shorten the life of air and cabin/AC filters, while coastal humidity accelerates corrosion in brake and electrical parts. So in island conditions it’s safer to renew the relevant part a touch earlier than the “book maximum”. We can pin down which part suits your car via the VIN.
